We Look Forward to Returning!
We had the most wonderful vacation at the cottage! My husband, daughter (3-year old), and I were able to stay for just over a week and it was such a gift. My daughter loved climbing down to the shoreline, and playing by and in the water. We enjoyed kayaking, and the lake was gorgeous. I keep thinking about the sunsets in the mornings. We were grateful for a simple space to land that offers the best of nature. Thank you!

Overlook Cottage is relaxing, beautiful, and perfect!
Parents and teen loved it!  Host’s warm welcome, spotlessly clean cottage, everything was so easy & wonderful. Great kayaks, lake, campfires, and near great restaurants and wineries! It was wonderful to be surrounded by nature and get away from it all, especially after this challenging year. This was our first time renting a cottage and the host had everything so well organized, and was kind and helpful, making the trip effortless and relaxing; perfect vacation and getaway!  Our teen kept saying, “I love it here!” We’ve been home two weeks and miss it immensely– we can’t wait to come back next year!

Overlook Cottage is peaceful and relaxing!
This isn’t an easy time for anyone, but staying at Overlook Cottage was exactly the break I needed.  The cottage is immaculate and the setting was everything I hoped it would be – wooded, quiet, with Seneca Lake right there. The screened-in porch was the highlight of my stay, and even with all the wonderful attractions just minutes away (Watkins Glen State Park, amazing wineries and FLX Wienery) it was hard to leave the cottage. I was provided helpful information and that made it a truly relaxing getaway.

Overlook is Summer Bliss!
We were lucky and got our dream cabin last minute, since somebody else had to cancel. The cabin is very functional and cozy. It was also spotlessly clean and provided everything we needed. The private beach (where we could use our Stand-Up Paddling Boards) was outstanding. We used the fireplace, watched the stars and had a fantastic week that felt like a month’s holiday. The cabin is close to nice wineries, restaurants and hikes.

Charming lakefront cabin in the woods!
This was definitely a fun and memorable place to stay in the Finger Lakes. The cabin has the basic, modern essentials – and the owner’s comprehensive list helped us plan what extras to bring. We made full use of the lake – swimming during the day, campfire at night, and sitting on the pier for a late afternoon snack. And, of course, the grill and screened in porch were much enjoyed as well. It’s also wonderful how secluded you feel at the cabin, but wineries and restaurants (FLX Wienery, yum!) are an easy 10-15 min drive away.

Fun and relaxation-A place for memory making
Overlook Cottage quickly won our hearts and became our go-to vacation spot for 5 years now!! LOVE the simple, quiet effect this place has on my family! The porch is wonderful during warm weather as well as rainstorms, like a secret hidden tree house. Lake Seneca itself is just serene! So much to do and see in the whole area as well but if you’re like us, your stay mostly happens at the lake!

A relaxing getaway!
My husband and I spent an enjoyable and very relaxing 2 night/3 day stay at Overlook Cottage this past June. With the lake below us and the woods all around, the cabin was surrounded by nature and wildlife. We saw herons, heard owls and other birds, watched the sunset, heard distant thunder and rain, and just listened to the quiet. It was so peaceful and relaxing! The cottage itself was comfortable, spotless and well equipped. The screened in porch was a huge hit – I didn’t want to leave it! We loved our stay and are looking forward to our next visit!

Perfect!
My partner and I recently spent a wonderful week and this cabin and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It is so remote that it couldn’t be a more private little haven, surrounded by the woods on one side and the lake on the other. Everything we could possibly need was stocked in the kitchen (it had for more utensils and things than my kitchen at home!) and I don’t think we really found ourselves wanting for anything that we didn’t have. The place is surrounded by wineries on either side (the closest is literally a two minute drive away). We sampled some of their wares and they were delicious. The hot days were spend swimming in the lake or sitting on the end of the pier or skimming stones. One day, it rained and you might think that was a bad thing for a holiday but sitting out on the screened porch and listening to the rain and watching it fall in the forest was the most wonderful thing. I would highly recommend this cabin. The owners have really thought of everything and were an absolute pleasure to deal with. We hope to return next year.

Nature’s Peaceful Haven
My husband and I have rented this cottage for a week each summer for the past 6 years. We love this simple, comfortable cottage in the woods. The constant sounds of the lake lapping against the shore helps melt the stress away. The beach area is very private with plenty of sunshine from early morning till mid-late afternoon. For a simple, affordable break from the rat race this very clean summer spot is perfect. For nearby adventure, one can visit many wineries, have dinner or go to a movie in town (Watkins Glen), play golf or go hiking at the nearby State Park. The large screened in porch makes even the rainy days and “buggy nights” bearable if not delightful. And don’t forget bonfires on the beach at the fire pit if you wish.

Perfect Getaway
We have made Overlook our summer retreat the past six years, and always look forward to the perfect place to recharge, and enjoy it’s peacefulness and scenic views. Inside the modern conveniences such as full size fridge, microwave and stove are a plus. There is a cozy living room with a DVD player for those few rainy nights. The biggest plus is the large size screened in porch that overlooks the lake and surrounding woods. You can curl up with a good book or eat all your meals here, enjoying the great surroundings. When we’re not down by the water, the porch is where we always spend the majority of our time. The private lake front area with woods surrounding it is quiet, peaceful and offers a great view of Seneca Lake. This cottage is also convenient to many wineries and less than a ten minute drive to Watkins Glen.
